New Space People awards win for Blue Abyss

Blue Abyss are excited to announce recent victories in The NewSpace People’s Awards for 'The Most Admired Business Leaders and Companies in the Global Space Industry'.

In late 2017, Leadership Monthly published a survey in which members of the public nominated business leaders and companies of their choice for these awards. In total 18,879 unique votes for 1,183 companies and 217 leaders were collected.

Blue Abyss was entered into the 'Most Admired Companies in the Global Space Industry 2017' category and made the top 10 out of 1,000 International space companies. Ranking above companies such as SpaceX and Virgin Galactic!

In the 'Most Admired Business Leader in the Global Space Industry 2017' category, the CEO of Blue Abyss, John Vickers, had a spectacular result, ranking 14th out of 200 nominees. John came in above iconic industry leaders including CEOs, Founders and MDs from companies such as Virgin Orbit, SpaceX, Blue Origin and Oxford Space Systems.

I was delighted, if not somewhat amazed at how well both myself and the company did. I was expecting Blue Abyss to possibly make the top 500, so for it to make the top 10 was simply incredible – two other members of the team also making the list is a huge boost to our ambition and demonstrates the exceptionally positive support we have engendered along the way, which I am profoundly grateful for.

Additionally, Blue Abyss can boast two further wins for business leaders in their midst. Anna Plaster, Head of Customer Relationship Management made the list and Dr Mindy Howard, Blue Abyss's new Astronaut Training Programme Director, made the top 50 as the Director and Lead Trainer at Inner Space Training, the company she Founded in 2011.

The awards that Blue Abyss and their leaders have won are further evidence of the extraordinary level of support that we receive on an ongoing basis from the very many special people and organisations around the world - so a huge thank you from all of us to all of the people who took the time to vote.

But this is just the beginning, so please continue to watch this space for more huge announcements throughout 2018!
