On World Oceans Day, people from around the globe get together and celebrate something which connects us all - our Ocean. This year the main action point is to prevent plastic pollution and encourage solutions for a healthy ocean.
This year we celebrate the third International Year of the Reef (IYOR). Declared for the first time in 1997, the IYOR was initiated due to increasing threats on coral reefs and associated ecosystems, such as mangroves and seagrasses around the world.
The subsea centre of excellence at Blue Abyss will offer the perfect arena to research and test solutions to issues challenging offshore windfarm development. Celia Anderson explains more to the Wind Energy Network.
